SEAACA Announces Bark Friday - a Day After Thanksgiving!

When other's doors are opening early for Black Friday, SEAACA will be greeting adopters this friday morning on the agency's 1st annual Bark Friday event! The doors to the kennels will open at 9am, instead of 11am and the adoption fees will be 50% off, which translate to $50.00 for dogs and $30.00 for cats. "Bunnies will be adopted for only $5.00 on Bark Friday," said Stephanie Webster, SEAACA's assistant kennel supervisor. "Even though it's Bark Friday, we'll have deals on those that meow, purr, churp....whatever," said Webster.

The adoption fee for dogs, cats, puppies and kittens include the spay/neuter procedure, 1st set of vaccinations, de-worming and microchip. "Leashes and collors will be on-sale as well," said Webster. "We're hoping to keep the focus on shelter animals, which too often are forgotten around the holidays," Webster stated.

The folks at the Southeast Area Animal Control Authority in Downey have reported recent successes with pet adoptions, but they have a special place in their hearts for Lucy, who is still waiting for a home.

Lucy is a year-old terrier mix who was turned into the sheltr by her owner in August because the owner's landlord does not permit dogs.

The adoption fee (Covered by L and T Happy Hounds) includes spay or neuter surgery, a microchip, vaccination, a rabies shot, dewormer, and flea treatment.

I have a broken leg right now but as soon as I’m healed up I am going to start a training and obedience program at Blue Dog Ranch where I live. I am very affectionate and I love people. I have an active personality so as soon as this leg is heeled I can’t wait to start going on walks and hikes! Right now I am just enjoying quiet time until I get better – laying in the sun and letting people rub my belly.
